It was lovely to have met you and I am tickled to hear that our event here at the Royal Saskatchewan Museum was a highlight in your season. It is truly one of personal favorites in our repertoire of events. Thank you for making the trip and making such a valuable contribution to the evening. The commentary was overwhelmingly positive from audience members that I know who came and thoroughly enjoyed your performance. All the best in 2010.

July 2009

Larry Krause captivated audiences at the Window on the West Stage at the Calgary Stampede this year, July 2009. This talented singer/songwriter was equally comfortable with classic country music as he was performing award-winning country gospel songs. His humble stage presence, rich vocal style and talented guitar musicianship, made him a highlight in our line-up
of entertainers. We would be pleased to welcome Larry back again!

Re: Soul Harbor Rescue Mission Concert

I want to thank you for your wonderful talents that you so generously shared with everyone at the concert. Many people remarked that they enjoyed you the most, despite the many brilliant performers. I will bear you in mind for upcoming events. Again, may God light the paths you choose with happiness and success. God bless you!!

Them Dang Cowboys are Going Downtown
Christopher Lake Saskatchewan
Oct 11
By Ol' Ugly

Standing Ovations; Back Patting, CD Sales galore and talk of a two night event in Christopher Lake, Saskatchewan next year. Larry Krause was named Official Song Bird for the community; Bj Smith was named Poet Lariat and Ol' Ugly is their new Village Idiot. To top it off Bj and Tina (that’s his beautiful wife) and Ol' Ugly were housed in the most beautiful log cabin inn called "Jewel of the North." What a dream place that was. When I left the next day Bj was trying to explain to Tina that the place was not for sale.

This was Larry Krause's show and he MC'd it and thrilled the audience with his singing. The audience loved it and you could see them tapping their toes and fingers while singing along as he is from that area and has entertained them many a time.

Then on came Bj Smith and he was at his "Aw Shucks, Baxter Black/Will Rogers" best. He and his chicken ranch poem soon had the audience eating up his every word and roaring with laughter at every second phrase. I thought he had finished off the audience, but he left some for Ol' Ugly. Well, Ol' Ugly with his wild stories about his brother Blue and Aunt Tilley did work up the people so bad Larry had to call a fifteen minute halt so they could revive some of the ladies who were fanning themselves with their hankies. Ol' Ugly tried to convince the audience that he was a chick magnet and the women were just swooning over him, but Larry assured him that the women of Saskatchewan had more class than that.

After the show, the organizers could not stop talking about it and planning for next year. Larry, Bj and Ol' Ugly had to ask them to stand aside once in a while so the audience could get close enough to buy a CD or two. Heck, I hear they are even talking about a show in Fall River, too!

What an appreciative audience and the standing ovation was really special. I know I can say thanks for that from Larry, Bj and myself.

Larry, you and your organization did a wonderful job. Thank you. That biscuit and stew supper had me wanting to climb under the table and have a snooze instead of going on stage. It was fantastic.

I love being on stage with people with this much talent. They always make me "up" my performance and make me reach higher for that bar. It is either that or be left in their wake. Bj was teasing me about opening for me, but he doesn't realize how I dread following him.

There had never been an evening of Cowboy Entertainment held in that country before-lots of country music played, and well received, but nothing so specifically Western. Bj Smith and Ol’ Ugly definitely took the folks at Christopher Lake to school, and showed them the finest examples of both Cowboy Poetry and Western style entertainment. Roars of laughter that resounded throughout the evening, showed that folks were takin’ to their lessons well. Rounding out the evening was Larry Krause, singing the ballads of the west that tell the stories, old and new, of the folks that made the West their home. The standing ovation by the audience at this sold out evening told the tale of how well Cowboy poetry was received. It may have never been there before, but it's a sure bet it will return.

So Larry, I sure hope you invite us again next year.

RE: Larry Krause Country Gospel Concert, May 4/08, A Fundraiser for Eigenheim Mennonite Church

A good crowd assembled in Rosthern at the Community Multipurpose Centre to be entertained by country recording artist, Larry Krause and Timberline. And they were not disappointed.
Krause, who began the afternoon concert with a rousing version of, “You Go To Your Church”, guided the audience through a collection of well known toe-tapping country gospel tunes including “I Won’t Take Less Than Your Love” by Paul Overstreet and the Hank Williams hit, “I Saw The light” along with several of Krause’s popular originals.
Between songs, Krause often took the time to provide some insight into his own experiences as a song writer – letting everyone in on some of his personal thoughts.
Several of Krause’s original tunes were introduced in this way. Songs like, “Do You Know”, “The Gate is Open” and “Tree in the Forest” showed Krause’s ability to sing a variety of styles and ‘spin those notes’ when needed.
Krause’s rich tenor voice blends well with the music of Timberline’s experienced musicians for a polished performance. Garry Larsen on mandolin, banjo and lead guitar, George Pistun on fiddle and Dave Sinclair on bass and rhythm guitar also do vocals, providing rich harmonies which worked well with Krause’s smooth delivery.
He sang, “Mansion Over the Hilltop”, a family favourite, from the heart - providing a version of this traditional tune that’s hard to beat.
And just when you think you’ve heard everything from this entertainer, “Nightrider’s Lament” is performed - highlighted by Krause’s beautifully extended notes and culminated in a delightful display of classic yodeling.
Together, Larry Krause and Timberline provided an excellent show for country gospel and traditional country lovers.

We were fortunate enough to hear you and your band perform recently in Wadena, Saskatchewan. We had a great evening; your talent and your music were very evident and greatly appreciated.

Your performance exceeded our expectations...... been getting calls already this morning praising your performance and thanking us for bringing you in.- Wadena Arts Counsel Nov, 2007

Hello Larry,..... I just wanted to drop you a line to tell you how much my wife and I enjoyed your show at this year's CCMA gospel show in Regina.-R.M., Regina, Sask.

When you meet Larry Krause he comes across as a warm friendly individual-the kind of person you'd go fishing with. When he takes the stage, the atmosphere gets even more relaxed. Sitting and watching the show, you feel completely contented that you are getting what you wanted. Larry seems to be able to walk onto the stage and get into the head of each and every person in the audience, delivering exactly the kind of performance they were hoping to see. When he steps off the stage there is a wimper from the fans-one more song! - Micheal Moritz, talent co-ordinator of the Swift Current
Country Music Jamboree, September 2007

"Must tell you again how much we enjoyed your music at Danceland!" - C.G., Consort, Alberta
September 2007

"On February 18th 2007, Larry Krause and Timberline performed at the Rainbow Corral in Wetaskiwin, Alberta. They had the audience in the palm of their hand from the first chord. With Larry's superb vocals and band members providing the harmony it was an afternoon of pure enjoyment. While showcasing some of Larry's original songs they also performed country
classics and gospel, it was just a perfect mix. They played for almost 2 hours and the audience was reluctant to let them off the stage at the end of the show.

Larry Krause and Timberline have a standing invitation to come back to the Rainbow Corral whenever they are doing an Alberta tour. We all hope it will be soon." -Rainbow Corral/Karmack Entertainment, Wetaskiwin, Alberta

"Your hat is in the ring here so now you will have to come and gather it. The people who were in the audience last year that we are in touch with are still talking about your voice and material. We would be honoured to have you attend again in 2007" - Elaine and Ron Willie, Willow Creek Cowboy Gathering, November 2006

"Your CD arrived this morning and we have just finished listening to it. It's FANTASTIC! Even better than your terrific TRUE BLUE!!  And it brought back some (almost) forgotten memories!  Many, many years ago as a teen-ager I  played the guitar and together with several friends did quite a bit of singing.  I had almost forgotten which songs we sang but it all came back to me when I heard "Precious Jesus, Hold My Hand" and "You go to Your Church". We used to sing in Niagara-on-the-Lake at the towns' Sunday Night Sing-songs in the Park. "Mansion Over The Hilltop" is also a long time favourite of mine. Oh My! That's a long time ago!!  Thanks for the memories!!  I enjoy your compositions and Heck!!! I liked them all!" -"E", Leamington, Ont. , September 2006

"We really were glad that we hired you "sight unseen" as the bull sellers call it, for our western music concert. We received a cd from Larry after last year's concert and we hired him to come and be part of this year's production. Larry was a pleasure to work with and his wife Gail was very helpful also. Larry's deep resonating voice sometimes sent tingles up your neck and I heard people say that he sang Ian Tyson songs better than Ian Tyson. He was very well received by the audience and I know he made some new friends. Larry helped out the next morning at our cowboy church service with some classics and some of his original gospel music. We would highly recommend Larry for any production you might have in mind. "- Norman Wittevrongel, chair, Yorkton Cowboy Festival Western Music Concert, August 2006

Thanks for your new CD! I enjoyed listening to it and I will be playing DON'T SWEAT THE LITTLE STUFF as our Saskatchewan Song on our Father's Day show. I just think it is a good title for a piece of Fatherly advice, be the Father in heaven, or the one who helped bring us into the world. Good luck with the new disc, and thank you again for sending it to me.- Dan Reynish, Host/Producer, Saskatchewan Weekend, CBC, June 2006

"The Shellbrook and Districts Health Services Committee would like to take this opportunity to thank you and Timberline for the excellent performance  provided to the people of our community on December 2nd. We have heard nothing but positive comments from those who attended the concert. Thanks again for helping with our fundraising."-Richard Porter, Chairman, Shellbrook & Districts Health Services Project, December 2005

"Thank you for the fine concert you and Timberline put on last night at the Rosthern Town and Country Fair Grandstand. We were happy to have a local boy perform, and find what a fine voice you have. It was a pleasant surprize for many who had never heard you before. Despite the stifling heat, you managed to entertain the audience for over ninety minutes, and entertained them well. Timberline did a fine job as well. Thanks again for a job well done."-Bruno Klassen, Grandstand Coordinator, Rosthern Town and Country Fair, August 2005

"Our community was pleased to have Larry Krause and Timberline perform at our Saskatchewan Centennial Celebration on July 24, 2005. The response to the entertainment provided was excellent. The weather on the day of the event was terrible and our venue was forced to move under cover of a couple of tents and a cleaned-out fire station. The crowd was slow to arrive but Larry and the members of Timberline began to play and the audience followed the music. Larry Krause and Timberline played for two hours to a very appreciative crowd. Larry's great voice combined with the excellent performance of his band, Timberline, provided a variety of music from well known country classics to Gospel music. We think he does the best Ian Tyson songs next to Ian himself. We would be pleased to have Larry Krause and Timberline back to the Anglin Lake community."-Shirley Gange, chair, Anglin Lake Cottage Owner's Association,  August 2005

"As MC for the Saskatchewan Centennial Stage at the EX (Saskatoon Prairieland Exhibition) 2005, I had the pleasure of hearing all the wonderful Saskatchewan talent that we are blessed to have in this province.
I was very surprised and happy to meet a group of musicians that I have met over the years, playing together in a group called Larry Krause and Timberline. This group has an acoustic country music presentation, featuring traditional country music as well as original western music.
Larry Krause is the lead vocal, rhythm player and leader of the group. Larry's smooth and velvet vocals will make you think you died and gone to heaven. His voice is rich and warm and he is extremely enjoyable to listen to. His yodeling is especially pleasing, and his whole style of music, including his originals, will take you back to the days when country was at it's highest and classiest point.
His band, Timberline, has three of the most talented veteran musicians to come out of Saskatchewan. Garry Larson plays lead guitar and mandolin. George Pistun plays fiddle and Dave Sinclair plays bass. There are no drums to mask the wonderful instrumental back-ups that these excellent musicians provide. There is no doubt that this style of acoustic band will go a long way together as a group with Larry Krause as the front singer.
I would highly recommend Larry Krause and Timberline for any and all occasions as they represent country and western music at it's finest."-
Colleen Carr, Saskatchewan Centennial Stage emcee, Saskatooon EX, 2005
