His country music career began with his debut at the Paddockwood West Country music show, which started him down the entertainment highway, a road that led to involvement in the Prince Albert Country Music Association. His consistent and solid vocals have made him a fan favourite at the Paddockwood West Country Music Show, Canwood Howl in the Pines, the Gateway Country Gospel Jamboree and the Love Gospel Jamboree. He was a showcase artist at the 2004 Saskatchewan Country Music Awards, and performed at the S.C.M.A. Gospel Brunch in 2005. His vocals and songs have also been noticed by the Cowboy Poetry community, which led to an invitation to the Maple Creek Cowboy Poetry Gathering.
Larry was one of the founding performers of the Classic Country Music Show, a touring group that performs songs recorded prior to 1970. The traditional style of his individual performance, as well as his harmonies, lends themselves well to his contribution to the group.

In June 2004, he released his debut album "True Blue", a ten song CD, featuring eight original tracks, many based on the rural lifestyle of Saskatchewan. The CD was nominated for S.C.M.A. Album of the Year. Larry also formed his back up band, "Timberline", which is comprised of musicians that played on the CD. The acoustic sound of the band, along with the traditional style that Larry brings to the stage, has gained him popularity, regardless of the venue, and played no small part in a 2004 nomination for S.C.M.A. Male Vocalist of the Year.
Larry’s performance schedule in 2005 was a continuation of the trend that he established in 2004. Together with Timberline, he performed on the Centennial Stage at the Saskatoon Prairieland Exhibition, as well as various Centennial celebrations across the northern Parkland. One of the highlights of the summer for the group was a return to Rosthern, Saskatchewan, where Larry grew up. Along with Timberline, he performed at the Grandstand show during the annual Town and Country Fair. The fall of 2005 saw Larry and Timberline embark on his first limited tour across central Saskatchewan, including stops in Rosthern, Big River, Prince Albert and Shellbrook, with a very enthusiastic and positive response from audiences at all the concerts.

The winter of 2006 saw Larry spending quite a bit of time at Riverbend Sound, putting the finishing touches on his Gospel album "The Gate is Open". As the summer went on, there were several trips into Alberta, including the Country Gospel Music Association convention in Wetaskiwin, where Larry garnered two awards, for New Male Vocalist of the year, and Producer of the Year. As well, Larry's music has found a following in Cowboy Poetry circles, with him appearing at Stavely, Maple Creek and other venues across the prairies.
